Welcome fellow seekers to the monthly newsletter of Spirit Of the Sycamore Tradition. A collaboration of the elders, clergy and members of our tradition. Sometimes, we have entries from the extended tribe of the Pagan community here too. If you would like to have something of yours featured, please let us know!

If you missed the previous Sycamore Spirit newsletter you can still see it here: Sycamore Spirit Newsletter #5.

Editor's Desk - By Cianaodh Óg

Hail and merrily met sisters and brothers of the tribe. Unfortunately we haven't had a lot of material from the clergy and extended family in awhile but I will do my best to inform and maybe entertain you for a bit. I would like to invite any who desire to offer up some words of knowledge, prayers, inspiration, wisdom or art for future publications of the Sycamore Spirit Newsletter to please send them my way via email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and I will share your offerings with our esteemed readers. Blessings upon you and your hearth. May you be safe, happy and well.

Temple Of the Standing Stones Meetup Group Closing! I would like to announce that after August 6th the Meetup Group for Temple Of the Standing Stones will be shutting down. The cost for keeping this meetup group in organizer fees is $14.99 per month and honestly the benefits haven't lived up to the cost. We get more new members who actually come to our events through our website and Facebook Pages and to date the Meetup.com Chip In feature has not been used by one single person to make donations to help offset the cost of maintaining our gatherings. Therefore, as a cost saving measure, when the current subscription runs out on August 6th we will not be renewing.

Litha 2016 Altar
Litha 2016 Altar

Texas Local Council of Covenant Of the Goddess were our wonderful hosts this past month at the Center for Change, Discovery and Support in Fort Worth as we celebrated Litha with a crowd which some estimated to be at around 80 in circle which officially makes that gathering larger than the circles gathered at any of our public rituals to date. Although Pagan Unity Fest drew more people to the event itself not as many joined us in circle those times. It was a wonderful event and we felt both blessed and honored to be invited to officiate before them.

Sarsen Caer of Caelum Moor
Sarsen Caer of Caelum Moor

After our Litha Gathering some of us went to Caelum Moor in Arlington to hold a brief healing circle for members of our tradition and families who are currently battling medical issues in their lives. Pictured here is Sarsen Caer beautifully lit up for the night. We sang a heal mother chant which we recorded and might share in the future too.

Also while there we visited each of the stone sculptures and felt their calming energies. Pictured here is one of the meditation labyrinths carved into one of the three stones making up the De'Danaan structure. This name refers to the Tuatha Dé Danann or People Of The Goddess Danu from ancient Irish lore.

Prayer & Blessing Requests

We receive requests throughout each month for prayers and blessings as members of our tribe and extended spiritual family struggle through the challenges of life as well as share in their triumphs and new journeys on their paths. Here, we ask that you add a candle to your altar or otherwise send energies to the following people who have requested prayers and blessings:

Cianaodh, an elder of Spirit Of the Sycamore Tradition and HP of Temple Of the Standing Stones shares this prayer from 'A Pagan Book Of Prayer' by Ceisiwr Serith:

I raise my hands in prayer to the God,
to him I pray, Lord of the Earth.
He who was the first of any to die,
the first of any to be reborn.
He who rises with the sun each day
and sets with it each night.
Out of my darkness and death, I call
and pray to you,
Lord Of All.
Out of my need, I send my voice
with honor of intercession.
Grant me my prayer, Mighty One,
you who know what it is to suffer.
Grant me my prayer, Antlered One,
you who are the great giver.

Ryn, a priestess of Mystic Willow Coven shares:

I have struggled with asking all day but I/we. Need positive energy light and prayer. My Mom is in the last stages of Alzhemiers. I cared for her for 4 years and she is now in a home in Lubbock near my sister. Her money has run out and we are turning in her application for Medicaid on the 1st her care is 5000.00 a month and we just don't have that kind of money. We have searched and they are all the same for her level of care. I can go into a whole long explanation but I won't. Just need Prayer and guidance..
